The world's top mobile chipset vendor says its new flagship SoC is the first announced on a 2 nm node, pairing flagship performance and efficiency with agentic AI features.
MediaTek, ranked as the world's leading supplier of mobile chipsets, has unveiled the Dimensity 9600 Pro, its newest flagship smartphone system-on-chip. With the announcement, the company said it has become the first chipmaker to declare it has crossed the 2 nm process threshold, a milestone it presents as proof of its innovation leadership and as the arrival of next-generation silicon within the Dimensity lineup.
The company positions the new node as the foundation for what it describes as transformative capabilities across its flagship tier, saying the next generation of silicon now in the Dimensity lineup will unlock a wide range of new functions. According to MediaTek, the 9600 Pro is engineered to combine flagship-grade performance with power efficiency while supporting advanced agentic AI experiences.
JC Hsu, corporate senior vice president at MediaTek and general manager of the Wireless Communications Business Unit, said AI sits at the center of the smartphone experience and that devices now require greater performance, efficiency, and intelligence to keep pace with rapidly evolving user demands. He argued the Dimensity 9600 Pro meets those requirements through a Native AI architecture together with a dual improvement in both performance and power efficiency, delivering new agentic AI experiences to users.
