Meta details two generative AI tools, mobile-first Horizon Create and web-based Horizon Studio, that generate playable 2D and 3D games from text prompts and publish across Facebook and Instagram.
Meta has detailed Horizon Create and Horizon Studio, a pair of generative AI tools that can turn text prompts into playable 2D and 3D games. The two products were presented together as a new route into game creation, allowing users to describe the game they want in everyday language and have the system begin building it.
The tools divide along form factor and depth of control. Horizon Create is a mobile app built for quick, on-the-go creation, while Horizon Studio is web-based and carries more granular controls for editing finer details. Studio users can adjust parameters including difficulty, art direction, and progression systems, giving creators a way to refine a generated game's balance, look, and long-term structure rather than accepting a single output.
Both applications run on the Meta Horizon Engine, and finished projects can be published across Meta's apps, including Facebook and Instagram. That setup ties prompt-based game creation directly to distribution inside Meta's own consumer platforms, closing the distance between building a game and putting it in front of players.
Horizon VP Saxs Persson described the workflow as beginning with an idea: "You have an idea, you open the app, describe the game you want to build in your own words, and the system starts building it with you." He argued the results carry "real depth" — "It's not a sketch, it's not a prototype" — and framed iteration as conversational: everything from reimagining the environment and changing characters to making a new quest or a new level, or tweaking difficulty so new players can stay with it, is one prompt away.
With the two tools, Meta is wiring generative AI into consumer-facing creation, and per the company's own description, playable output — not sketches or prototypes — is the benchmark for what the system delivers across its engine and app ecosystem.
