Broadcom's new integrated stack lets enterprises build and run AI applications alongside traditional workloads while retaining control of their data, models and infrastructure.
Broadcom Inc. has rolled out VMware Private AI Cloud, a unified software stack intended to let enterprises develop and operate artificial intelligence applications next to their existing conventional workloads, with data, models and infrastructure remaining in customer hands. The platform was announced at the VMware Explore 2026 conference, which runs this week in Las Vegas.
The stack is built on VMware Cloud Foundation infrastructure and, per the announcement, spans four dimensions: infrastructure, agents, data and security. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as a separate track, Broadcom positions the platform so AI applications operate side by side with traditional enterprise workloads on the same software foundation. That design gives organizations a single environment in which AI development and day-to-day operations coexist.
The central pitch is control. By keeping data, models and infrastructure inside the enterprise perimeter, VMware Private AI Cloud speaks to the governance and custody concerns that frequently accompany AI projects handling sensitive information. Broadcom's framing indicates the stack targets organizations that want AI capability without surrendering ownership of their data, their models or the underlying infrastructure that runs them. For enterprises weighing where AI workloads should run, the message is that private control need not come at the expense of modern AI capability.
The Las Vegas unveiling also signals how Broadcom is steering its VMware portfolio toward AI. With VMware Private AI Cloud, the company is putting forward an integrated stack that covers the full deployment picture — infrastructure, agents, data and security — as an alternative to enterprises assembling AI capabilities piecemeal from separate tools.
