Tom's Hardware's latest benchmark run pushes 28 graphics cards from Nvidia, AMD and Intel through Control Resonant's path-traced, warped Manhattan cityscape with full DLSS 4.5 support.
Tom's Hardware has put Control Resonant through one of its trademark multi-vendor gauntlets, running the game across 28 graphics cards drawn from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. The title sends players back to the Oldest House and into a warped Manhattan cityscape, and the outlet reports that the setting pushes graphics cards to the max.
The demanding character of the game stems above all from its path-traced lighting effects. Path tracing is among the heaviest lighting techniques employed in PC gaming, computing light behavior pixel by pixel, and Control Resonant leans on it to render its distorted take on Manhattan. Tom's Hardware frames the warped cityscape as the stress point that separates the graphics cards it tested.
Nvidia-based cards carry an extra angle in the comparison: Control Resonant ships with full support for Nvidia's DLSS 4.5 technologies. That makes the release a showcase for Nvidia's newest software stack, and it means the 28-card leaderboard doubles as a measure of how AMD and Intel hardware fare in a workload carrying full backing for Nvidia's latest toolkit.
Benchmarks spanning 28 cards from three vendors give PC builders and buyers a broad like-for-like reference as GPU feature sets diverge across camps. For Tom's Hardware, Control Resonant joins the outlet's GPU test bench as a stand-in for the class of path-traced games that define the upper limits of consumer graphics demand.
For an AI-computing audience, the run offers a proxy for where neural rendering stands. DLSS 4.5 extends Nvidia's deep-learning rendering toolkit, and games like Control Resonant — path-traced and carrying full DLSS 4.5 support — are where such techniques face their sternest real-world tests across Nvidia, AMD, and Intel silicon alike.
